City activating to monitor Inauguration Day events


SEATTLE
(January 20, 2017) – The City of Seattle today activated the Emergency Operations Center and Joint Information Center to coordinate city operations surrounding several Inauguration Day events happening around Seattle. Expect large crowds and delays around the following:

 

Inauguration Day Student Walkout Rally: Seattle Central College Plaza, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.


Immigrant and Refugee Defend Our Rights March
: Rally at Judkins Park at 1 p.m. followed by a march starting at 2:30 p.m. to Westlake Park. The march route starts at 20th Ave S and S Weller St, heads north on 20th Ave S, west on S Jackson St, and north on 4th Ave to Westlake Park.


Inauguration Day Demonstration
: Rally at Westlake Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.


Private Event
 at CenturyLink Field from 8 p.m. to midnight. Expect congestion and delays near the venue.
